The COLA Project: Groceries
Have you had your COLA for this year? For last Year?
Are you experiencing your own Cost of Living Adjustment each time you go to your grocery store? Government says there is no inflation so why are you spending more to purchase the same groceries, toiletries, cleaning supplies and to put gas in your car?
We Seniors are well aware we cannot spend money we do not have. Our lifetime of experiences taught us that bad things happen to families and to governments that live beyond their means.
Are you doing increased planning to live within your means? Are you cutting back on your type or quality of groceries, shopping the circulars more closely than ever, putting off visits to children, friends and doctors to save money on gasoline?
Still the government tells us there is no inflation and even takes steps, known as Quantitative Easing, to promote a “healthy” level of inflation.
Super Seniors, we need your help. We are undertaking The “COLA” Project: Groceries.
Please click here for COLA Survey results!
PLEASE SIGN UP BELOW TO HELP US. After you sign up, you will be given a list of 15 basic grocery items. We ask that you go to your grocery store and record the price of those items once each week until we email you to stop. If you miss a week, just come back the following week.
You choose one size of a brand name and one size of a store or generic brand for each grocery list item. You do not have to buy the items, just record the shelf price of the exact same items each week.
Then follow this link http://912SuperSeniors.org/colasurvey to enter the prices into the survey. For your convenience this link is also printed out on the bottom of the grocery list.
The results, posted on this site and others, will be used to give Seniors a stronger voice by having the facts as we see them with our own eyes. If you have lost your grocery list and need a new one, simply complete the registration form again.
