Preserve Religious Liberty: Empowering Congregations

As the first of our Freedoms comes under direct attack by the HHS mandate Americans everywhere face losing the religious liberty our founders sought to protect.  Patriots across this nation have yet another challenge…to preserve that most basic Freedom of Religion as the rightful legacy of all generations of free Americans.

In our churches and synagogues too many citizens don’t know the details or even the existence of this mandate.  They are unaware of the destruction to our religious liberty effected by forcing all employers to provide contraception, sterilization and abortion inducing drugs to their employees.  No exception is made for the conscientious objection of employers like the Catholic hospitals, charities and schools even though the well known  doctrines of the Catholic Church would be violated.

You can help to preserve religious liberty by working to initiate, in your own church or synagogue, a group whose purpose is to advocate for freedom of religion.  The group would advocate for no party or candidate but would be focused on educating and empowering your faith community about our first amendment rights, the details of the HHS mandate and its violation of America’s religious liberty.

Below are files of suggested materials to initiate this group. The files cover talking to your minister, pastor or rabbi about forming an advocacy group, the materials for an initial meeting, a handout for the meeting and talking points for Freedom of Religion.

Some groups have already been started and are planning second and third meetings. The concern, determination and resourcefulness of those attending is turning into actions to educate others and to determine what actions will best preserve this most basic constitutional right.

Patriots know that the attack on one church’s liberty is an attack on all.  If this mandate is allowed to stand no faith, no freedom will be secure.  As our soldier sons and daughters stand in harm’s way  for our freedoms we must stand here for America’s Freedom of Religion.

Download below these proven, simple instructions to start a group in your church. Also find a manual of these and additional resources to work within your congregation at:

ACTION ITEMS: Seniors Standing Up to Make a Difference

ACTION ITEMS  will be posted here regularly to give Seniors, and all patriots, more tools for speaking out and making a difference. Check back often for new items.

America’s 36 million Seniors over age 65 and the 77 million Baby Boomers beginning to turn 65 know we have much to lose and we are losing it with awful speed.  Our liberty and prosperity are under siege.  We know what is lost to us may never be restored to our cherished children and grandchildren and so we are compelled to take action.

The 912 Super Seniors website and newsletters urge Seniors to reach out to other Seniors yet unaware of the facts of America’s new healthcare, the assault on our 1st Amendment freedom of religion, our right to assemble or the continuing denial of the use of American sources of energy, to name a few.

ACTION ITEMS  to give Seniors, and all patriots, more tools for speaking out and making a difference.

#1  912 Super Seniors COLA  Survey completed six months of price checking. on selected groceries and gasoline. Results are on the COLA tab here on the site.  We will be resuming COLA for the months of May, June and July, 2012.

#2  The Senior Pamphlet on our homepage asks if your doctor can afford to keep you…and gives  healthcare facts about the shortage of doctors and the cuts in care that will come from the new healthcare law. Seniors have been printing and spreading these facts all across the USA.

#3 The 30 second elevator speech. 912 Super Seniors in a local group in NY started to practice a talking point for when they are waiting in line at the grocery store, in a doctor’s office, running into an old friend or neighbor or riding in an elevator!

Anytime the opportunity presents itself a Senior should be ready with a fact or two about an issue that concerns them.  If you are concerned, others will be also once they hear the facts from you. Whether you choose  a fact from the Senior pamphlet on this site or a headline from the news about the deficit, unemployment, energy prices, or loss of religious freedom, start by practicing to your mirror, then your dog and cat and then a family member.

These encounters can lead to more conversation, plans to meet for coffee with another friend or two to discuss the issues, even an invitation to them to attend your next group’s meeting.  Use your social and networking skills and soon you will have others rehearsing their 30 second speeches until millions more Seniors are aware and informed.

#4  Powerful Healthcare Videos on You  Tube.  These are quick and highly informative about the myths and the dangers of the new healthcare law.

Come to Mom’s kitchen table for a salt and pepper shaker demonstration of some myths of healthcare reform.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mkdx_remjGc

Watch who is actually throwing Medicare, with Seniors in tow, off of the cliff. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PJ-p29xEM0s

#5  Work within your own church community to protect Religious Freedom from the assault against one church which, if allowed to stand, will embolden even more attacks on this and other freedoms.

To stand for America’s Religious Liberty follow what 912’ers and other volunteers have already begun.  Go to your Minister, Priest or Rabbi and ask to initiate a non-partisan group within your faith community to advocate and educate for 1st amendment Freedom of Religion.

Ask to schedule an first informational meeting for your church community to learn more about the HHS mandate and its effects on every church’s freedoms to practice its doctrines.

With no mention of any party or candidate, your fellow faithful Americans will gather in action to protect this 1st amendment right. Once they are informed and know that they are not alone in wanting to stand for Religious Liberty, your fellow congregants will decide  how to best protect and preserve America’s 1st amendment Freedom of Religion by working with those who worship with them.

All materials and information are here to make it as easy as possible to start this group in any church or synagogue anywhere.

“Restoring Love”: 912 Super Seniors Director, Greg McNiece, Shares His Experiences

We have just experienced a Major Milestone in our quest and commitment to Reclaim the Goodness and Greatness of America. It started in Orlando with Glenn’s Revival at the UCF arena, elevated to the National level with 8-28 at the Mall in DC and now to the World with Restoring Love at Cowboy’s Stadium. The previous two set the scene and opened our eyes – Dallas allowed us to confirm our commitment. No one came to find out what it was all about – they came to deliver – now and forever!! This was the start of the Third Awakening of America.

In a pre-event extravaganza on Thursday 7/26/2012, Freedom Works brought together a conservative minded audience and packed 16000 of them into the American Airlines Arena for the FreePac event. The crowning jewel was the invitation to members of the visiting 21 countries to come to the stage and meet America. They did and received a much deserved standing ovation. They were in America to witness how the Tea Party movement has moved America and begun the restoration and security of our basic constitutional freedoms. Here they met the keynote speaker – GB – who closed the event using one of Rudyard Kipling’s most famous poems – “God of the Copy-Book Headings”. Standing ovations greeting many famous conservative speakers including Rev. C L Bryant who delivered one of the most stimulating speeches on America’s past present and future, combined with an overview to his monumental film project – the “Runaway Slave” – coming to cinemas across America this summer and fall.

On Friday 30,000 volunteers boarded hundreds of buses and headed out in morning and afternoon groups to serve the DFW area at 305 locations. These ranged from soup kitchens, retirement homes, churches, various civic service centers, to separate regional city departments and parks. Also – they loaded 14 tractor trailers with food and sent them out to 11 cities across America to provide food to the homeless and needy. You couldn’t miss us around the area since every volunteer wore a green florescent vest and served proudly.

On Saturday more than 90,000 packed Cowboy’s Stadium to share the night with Glenn. He took us back in history using priceless artifacts loaned to the event and dating back to the Tea Party, the Revolution, the Founding Fathers and the Civil War. These included Friberg’s original painting “The Prayer at Valley Forge” of George Washington kneeling by his horse, through to Abraham Lincoln’s original desk and chair. Other items featured were the blood stained wooden cross member from beneath a table upon which many a soldier was operated on in the field during the Civil War and one of the only 5 original Holy Bibles printed by the first Congress. These along with many other unique and pricless props were used by Glenn to bring our country’s history to the stage. He helped to lead us to the realization that those who fought and served before us did so that we could live in freedom. And that is why we must now commit and go forward to serve so that our children and their children will continue to enjoy the freedom that we now have. He showed us how important it is to preserve and understand history since it teaches one what to expect ahead. His speech – or more appropriately – his message came through loud and clear and was received by all in attendance with open arms and standing ovations. The last one lasting more than five minutes as he completed one of his finest yet.

Everyone left Dallas with a personal commitment to carry forward and serve. You can see the events via Freedomworks.org and GBTV.com

Fr. Andrew was invited to lead the opening prayer at the 2012 Colorado Republican State Assembly and Convention in the Magness Arena at the University of Denver. The moral challenges facing our country are not caused by political affiliation, but rather by attacks on religious freedom. He invites all people of conscience to uphold religious freedom.

Romneycare and Obamacare Are Identical

As Seniors know the new healthcare law is 575 billion cut from Medicare while 77 million Baby Boomers are coming on to Medicare. While it is critical to repeal this devastating attack on our healthcare, we need to examine the state based plan in MA to see if that is an alternative.

by Betsy McCaughey

Presidential aspirant Mitt Romney may not have intended that the mandatory
health insurance law he signed in 2006 would look like the Obama health law. But
the Massachusetts law does a lot more than cover the uninsured (a worthy goal).
The law broadens the powers of government to dictate treatment decisions and
even interferes in where and how patients die. The result will be a breathtaking
shift of decision-making from the doctor at bedside to the state.

The Massachusetts law has come under fire for soaring premiums, now the highest in
the nation. A 2011 Beacon Hill Institute study concluded that 18,000 fewer
people were employed in the state, because employers required to provide
coverage left the state or stopped hiring to avoid the cost. But the cost
cutting has begun, and the results are alarming.

Chapter 305 of the 2006
law created councils and regulatory bodies charged with cost-cutting, and after
several years they have produced a plan. Here are key
components:

Mandatory electronic medical records: All physicians must
comply by January 2015 as a condition of keeping their medical
license.

Comparative effectiveness: A state board — with unions,
consumers, employers and other nonphysicians on it — will synthesize medical
research into guidelines and ensure that all insurers and doctors follow them.
These guidelines will lay out what care is “medically necessary” and include
“how to address individual patient cases and circumstances.” Massachusetts says
it and its bureaucrats can make better decisions than highly trained physicians
at bedside. (Roadmap to Cost Containment pp. 10, 21,36)

Massachusetts’
End of Life Program: Sec. 41 of Chapter 305 of the Massachusetts law creates an
expert panel to deal with how and where people die. The state will launch an
aggressive public relations campaign to get hospitals and doctors to encourage
palliative care, hospice care, and death at home. In Massachusetts, only 24
percent of people die at home. The state says that is too low. (Roadmap,
pp.32,33, 41,90,)

Sometimes a patient doesn’t die at home because the
doctor doesn’t foresee that death is imminent. A 2006 Emory University study
found that doctors treat patients who are expected to die less intensively than
patients who are expected to survive, but often doctors can’t predict who is
near the end.

The benefits of hospice care are obvious. But physicians
also worry that some patients will break down at the mention of hospice care and
lose the will to fight their disease. Ultimately, the question is how involved
should government be in how we die, especially when the goal is to cut
costs?

Ending fee-for-service insurance options: Massachusetts will push
patients into “medical homes,” to limit access to costly specialists and
diagnostic tests, and substitute nurse practitioners and physicians assistants
for doctors.

A 2008 Congressional Budget Office report noted that. if
cost control is the priority, medical homes are likely to present the same
problems as those  HMOs of 20 years ago.

HMOs would withhold physicians’
fees until the end of the year and give it back only to the physicians who met
targets for limiting referrals or diagnostic tests. Ultimately, what a doctor
prescribed for a patient came out of the doctor’s own pocket at the end of the
year, setting up a conflict between you and your doctor. (Roadmap, p.
14)

Perhaps Governor Romney didn’t read Section 305 of the health law
he signed, or couldn’t anticipate how it would undermine the doctor-patient
relationship.

The Massachusetts cost-cutters claim that care could be cut
by 20 percent to 30 percent without doing harm. President Obama’s former budget
director  Peter Orszag made the same claim to defend deep cuts to Medicare
funding.

Don’t believe it. Wherever these cost cutting strategies — the
same ones that are in Romneycare and Obamacare — are used, the results are
deadly. An important study in the Annals of Internal Medicine (February 2011)
based on all hospitals in California shows that seniors treated in hospitals
providing more intense care and spending more have a better chance to recover
and resume their lives. In fact, 13,813 elderly patients with pneumonia,
congestive heart failure, stroke and hip fractures who died at low spending
hospitals would have survived and gone home had they received more care. That’s
a lesson for Massachusetts and the nation.

Health Law: What It Says and How to Overturn

American Jobs and Energy Sacrificed to Obama’s Political Ambitions

by Barbara Samuells:

Note well, Republican Congressmen, there is no chance this president will approve the Keystone Pipeline even to please his constituents with a decrease in payroll taxes and an increase in taxes on millionaires.  He will get what he wants some other way, the Chicago way.

Know that this president will never allow the Keystone Pipeline anymore than he will allow the Utica, Ohio shale oil project to go forward. Political calculations trump all else for this administration .  On Nov. 8, Ohio’s Issue 3 offered  its citizens a voice on the mandates of Obamacare. Ohioans were the first and the only Americans who actually got to vote on Obamacare.  By two to one, they voted “NO“. The 20 month effort of over 4400 volunteers who collected petition signatures to put Issue 3 on the ballot  resulted in every Ohioan having the chance to reject the forced healthcare mandates of PPACA, known as Obamacare.

Quick as a wink Ohioans received their first punishment for voting against Obama’s signature accomplishment.  The Utica, Ohio shale oil project was stopped in its tracks by a federal agency, the USDA.

Like the Keystone Pipeline, this shale oil resource in Ohio would provide needed energy sourced outside the Middle East.  Ohio’s Department of Natural Resources estimates a possible yield of  5.5 billion barrels of oil and 15.7 trillion cubic feet of natural gas.  The Utica, Ohio project would create 200,000 direct  jobs by 2015.

Also, like the pipeline, it has been halted by Obama’s political muscle.  After Ohio’s stinging rejection of Obamacare the USDA imposed a six month delay for “additional research”  thus enabling the environmentalists who know there must be damage to forests, water or something, but need more time to find it.  What are the chances the delay will turn into more delays and an eventual ban of the entire project?  Energy and jobs are denied to teach a Chicago style lesson to Ohioans and  any Americans daring to challenge this president’s plans.

The message to Americans is clear and the Chicago playbook is wide open. The loss of many thousands of jobs and the energy we sorely need is nothing compared to the raw political power used to keep uncooperative American citizens in line.

Disabling the Electoral College before 2012 Election?

What a challenging debate Americans are having!  The National Popular Vote
Compact, NPVC, is the talk of state capitals from Columbus, OH, to Albany, NY,
to Austin, TX.  Our state legislators are casting critical votes to change our electoral process and, of course, we the people have an important voice in it all.

No wonder we insist on being highly engaged in this decision. From American history we know our electoral system was designed by the Founding Fathers to insure the most careful balance possible of votes and voices for America’s Presidential elections, to protect minority rights while recognizing and empowering the majority.

We are well aware that state by state adoption of the NPVC, also known as the National Popular Vote, NPV, would change the founders’ design for our Constitutional Republic and could circumvent those minority protections from what Alexander Hamilton called the possibility of oppression by the majority.  Oh, the talking and debating…the discussions about Constitutional design…the weighing
of the pros and cons… a discussion merited by the enormity of the proposed change.

Whoa! Wait just a minute here! Did you say you haven’t heard these debates?  Did
you say the NPVC is just meaningless alphabet soup to you? The vigorous debate
over a change to this so called “direct vote” or democratic vote” didn’t get your attention?

You should know that your state has probably already adopted NPVC
or is in the process of doing so.

Of course you didn’t hear this important debate about NPVC only because there is none.
The NPVC, or NPV, is sold as harmless and described as a more democratic electoral method to give each American a direct voice in the election of our president. However, in a legal memorandum, Oct 27, 2011, Heritage concludes that:

Consequently, the NPV[9] scheme proposes an interstate compact in
which participating states agree in advance to automatically allocate their
electoral votes to the winner of the national popular vote, disregarding the
popular vote results in their states or what the relevant legislatures might
then desire. The NPV would “put the fate of every presidential election in the hands of the voters in as few as 11 states and thus…give a handful of populous states a controlling majority of the Electoral College,”[10] undermining the protections of the Electoral College
.

Passage of this insidious compact is very close because 170 of the required 270 votes are from states already signed on.  States where NPV is being considered or is close to passing are more than sufficient to implement the NPVC. Then it will apply to the 2012 election and every one after that so that a candidate can be elected by a few of the most populous regions in the USA. Since this is likely to increase the number of third and even fourth party candidates, one could win as little as 30% or 40% of the popular vote and be awarded the necessary 270 electoral votes. We could see European type elections with so many candidates that none has enough support to govern effectively.

Who exactly would benefit from a change in the electoral college system that has worked effectively for so many elections? Who would want to circumvent our founders’ intentions for the most balanced and representative selection of the president? This has been in
progress, on a state by state basis, with stealth and steely determination since 2006. Multiple websites push the “Direct Vote” and “NPV” and “Democratic Vote” to create the impression this is truly popular when, in fact, it is being funded and pushed by those with their own political agenda.

The RNC recently voted to condemn this change to our electoral system, but too much damage has been done already.  Some conservatives have voted for this and their lack of understanding of the issue is deplorable.

NPVC will bring out the grizzly in manyof us who will not stand for deception and the manipulation of our constitutional safeguards. Our first task is to educate ourselves by checking some links here, and then we must alert others. Next, our state representatives
must be informed, in no uncertain terms, that we strongly oppose this unconstitutional compact.

Calls, handwritten letters and visits to our state legislators must make it clear that if in process, NPVC must be stopped. If already passed, NPVC must be repealed. If introduced, NPVC must be rejected at once.  Any legislator who votes for this does not know the constitution and is not protecting our freedoms.

Also, search on “National Popular Vote” and you will find countless sites advocating this “logical and fair” change to an outdated system. Watch this topic wherever it is posted because immediately someone will post comments insisting the NPVC is a good thing for America. Who is so closely tracking the issue and attacking
every negative? Who is so determined NPVC must succeed? What do they
have to gain?

In the Federalist Hamilton explains the need to protect the public good and the rights of the minority from the possible oppression by the majority in a “direct democracy” or “popular” vote:

When a majority is included in a faction, the form of popular government, on the other hand, enables it to sacrifice to its ruling passion or interest both the public good and the rights of other citizens. To secure the public good and private rights against the danger of such a faction, and at the same time to preserve the spirit and the form of popular government, is then the great object to which our inquiries are directed.

Obama Immune to 2012 Defeat? Thank George Soros.

The Progressives, in their determination to neuter the Constitution and negate the protections built therein by the Founding Fathers, are seeking to strip out a vital provision: The Electoral College.  As James Madison explains in Federalist #10,
America’s Constitutional Republic with democratic forms is designed to protect
individual rights and minority opinions from a tyranny of the majority, possible
in a “direct democracy”.

The Progressive Left is covertly trying to destroy this central pillar of our Republic under the guise of “Democracy” with an initiative called the “National Popular Vote Compact” or
NPVC. By sidestepping an essential provision of our Constitution, Progressives
seek that which they cannot obtain under the current open election rules, a
lock on the Presidency. And George Soros is providing the funding and the push.
As Sara Noble states:

They plan to do this by eliminating the role of states, a protection written into our Constitution, and they are doing it covertly while in plain sight. The Progressive initiative is called the “National Popular Vote Compact” aka NPVC and their information is being spread nationwide via the Internet since 2008. They claim it is “true
democracy” but “democracy” to them is interchangeable with “socialism” and worse, as it was in the sixties.

They are moving state by state to bypass the Constitutional amendment process, relegating our SCOTUS to complete insignificance.”

http://www.independentsentinel.com/2011/10/eliminating-the-electoral-college-eliminates-states-rights-and-obama-remains-president/

We must act immediately as outlined below.  Otherwise, with no public knowledge, no voter input, no public referendums and no input from states which object to this measure, this “Compact” would usurp the role of the states as safeguarded by our Constitution. It transfers
electoral votes to a “national popular vote” thereby usurping the role of the
states as safeguarded by our Constitution
.

The electoral vote system protects voting rights by giving each individual state a number of electoral votes representing the level of population. In this way, all states in the Union have a proportionate and representative voice in who becomes President. It doesn’t matter if the state has more land mass than populace, or if more of the people live in rural areas, etc.

If just a few more states pass the NPVC this bill will become law and the Electoral College votes of any state can be given to the winner of the national popular vote in a presidential election, rather than to the winner of that state’s popular vote.

If the electoral system set up by our Founding Fathers is
undermined all our Liberties are at extreme risk and this is exactly what the
Progressive Left wants.

URGENT! ACT NOW TO STOP THIS PROGRESSIVE ATTACK

First: Spread awareness through your network of contacts

Second: Watch for upcoming Action Alerts

Ask yourself: Is George Soros working for or against America’s freedoms?
